Two courses, two different bars. Both online and self-paced, both ending in an assessment, and both renewed annually — because a credential nobody re-checks is not worth holding.

Two separate courses, not two levels of one. They train two different jobs that must never be done by the same person on the same property — so you choose by the role you want, not by how experienced you are.

STRLCS Assessor accreditation

Recording what exists.

For PPRA-registered property practitioners.

  • The South African compliance framework and which parts apply to which property types
  • The assessment checklist, item by item, and what counts as evidence for each
  • Photographic standards — what to capture, from where, and what makes an image unusable
  • Certificates: how to identify, verify currency and capture electrical, gas, fire and other CoCs
  • Conduct on site, owner interaction, and the boundary you must not cross into advice
  • Declaring a conflict of interest and when you must decline a job

Entry bar: a current PPRA Fidelity Fund Certificate, plus smartphone, own transport, clear record and verified identity.

Auditor accreditation

Verifying against the standard.

For registered professionals with sign-off authority.

  • The determination standard — what constitutes a pass, a fail, and an inconclusive file
  • Interrogating an evidence pack for completeness, consistency and currency
  • When a file requires a site attendance and when the record is sufficient
  • Writing findings that hold up on appeal, with reasons tied to instrument and clause
  • The allocation and conflict rules, and your obligations under them
  • Working with a council: reporting formats, timelines and escalation

Entry bar: relevant professional qualification, current registration with your body, professional indemnity cover, and demonstrable independence from advisory work in the same area.

How it's delivered

Online and self-paced on our learning platform. Work through it around your existing job — most people complete it over a few evenings rather than in one sitting. Assessment at the end, and you may re-sit.

What it costs

A one-off course fee, payable once your verification has cleared. Separate from the verification fee and from the monthly software licence — and the licence does not begin until your first job is allocated.

Annual re-accreditation

A shorter refresh each year covering framework changes and any standard updates. It is also where sustained rating problems are addressed. Everyone renews, regardless of standing.

Why there is no entrance exam. The course exists to take someone from capable to accredited. You have already passed the exam that matters — PPRA registration. The filter here is verification of your record, not a quiz.
